What may have happened to your  account may be similar to mine. Although I hadn't received an email, my DD was increased from £97 to £127. Believing it was to compensate for the new rates, I enquired and was told the new rates are still not known and the increase was because my account wasn't in credit and with winter looming and increased usage I accepted explanation.
However my DD was lowered within days by £36. This made my new DD £61 which was obviously £66 lower than my earlier amended DD to compensate for the rebate.
This will obviously revert back to £127 after 6 months. Although it may be sooner if the new rates justify it - although still not announced for EON Next Eastern Region.
  • Thanks for replies. It seems Eon next are giving out different information to enquiries.
I was sent the calculation method used.  It is (estimated annual gas  £ +electricity £)- (£400 gov + credit £) /12.
That means the gov payment is being split over 12 months.
    The calculation should be
    (estimated annual - credit) /12
    - £66/£67 till April
Account will be reviewed in 6 months (as everyone’s will be) so am expecting it to be in credit by £200.
