What is your current actual usage now in kwh/units? its a 4 bed isn't it? Do you have an EPC with annual energy use on it? Do you have Double Glazed windows, 300mm loft insulation, solid walls?
Good that you current debt is getting reduced but i worry you may still end up building up more next year and in the future."I had a worcester boiler fitted last March 2022. But the gas credit usage was the same with the old boiler and this new one hasn't made any difference even though it's meant to be efficient and is 5kw less (30 than 35)."What is the flow temp? if its just at max it may not get into condensing range, Are all your Rads more modern with fins?

It was a new 4 bed house (20 years ago) and is double glazed (changed 10 years ago with then new Rehau windows), has 300mm loft insulation, 100mm cavity wall insulation and some years ago foam insulated too where they couldn't see any cavity wall insulation. The wall between the 2 properties was also foam insulated last year with the boiler install. Downstairs radiators are all newish, changed 10 years ago, upstairs with the house. With a recent refurb 2 years ago half the downstairs radiators were changed again.
In any case, the gas credit use is high. I don't know how to check usage as, unlike a credit meter, i don't get a bill with units used and amount charged. All i see is credit going down.
I don't think i'll build up much debt next year, the current one didn't get settled because they wanted more than i could afford, once it's clear bills are paid and no debt. I intend to move suppliers anyway as need to go with dual fuel offers, am just stuck at the moment.0 -
You might not receive monthly bills, but your meters will still have index readings. You can read your meters periodically (daily, weekly, whatever) and make your own record of the readings. This will help you (and us) understand how much energy you are using.tifo said:I don't know how to check usage as, unlike a credit meter, i don't get a bill with units used and amount charged. I mean prepayment gas meter.0 -
Take regular readings (you might want to start off daily), share them here and we can help you understand how much energy you are using.tifo said:
