Mortgage panel number

hello, I am in the process of buying a house. My conveyancer/solicitor accepted my instruction, knowing they are not on the mortgage lenders 'panel' Despite numerous calls and emails to request they are active on the panel, they are not doing it! I have requested a refund of fees paid to date to go with another solicitor, but they are too ignoring that saying they will have the panel details sorted (by last week they said). Any advice on how to tackle this, my broker needs the panel info , now causing delays.
Thanks in advance.

  • I can't offer much advice other than definitely go with another solicitor! We are at the other end of this, our buyers solicitor isn't on the panel and its a right pain...the lender has their own solicitors instead so we are dealing with 2 lots of solicitors which is massively delaying everything (weeks of waiting for them to do anything and we are at the point of exchanging) and putting our onward purchase at risk. We've also had to pay additional fees to our solicitor for this because she's working with 2 lots...its a nightmare. Go with someone else.

If they are not on the panel then find another conveyancing company that is.
If at the beginning you are struggling to get through and get answers might be a good move now than later.

read their reviews, are they overall good value for money?
