The only thing I can think of that escapes watches is helium? or 'gas'? And weights... ounce, pound, tonne, ton, kilo, gram. None of which make a word unfortunately. Perhaps I am barking up the wrong tree.

A watch without an escapement would just unwind. Could be something in that but I’m equally stumped.

One other thing that escapes watches, especially old watches, were second as the watches weren’t accurate.
