Thinking aloud, could the answer be a person that the riddle is aimed at with emphasis on ‘YOU’ or a place/thing like we have been trying. Or like with Concorde is a mix of the words

Difficult one this. 

Looking at it like a cryptic crossword clue there’s 2 sections. 

If you didn’t escape there would be

trouble and a great weight on your shoulders 

so should we be be looking for a word that is a composite of a word for trouble and a word that means or is a great weight on shoulders. 

A great weight on your shoulders could be something like Onus, Anxiety, Worry or a weight it’s self like Ton, Tonne which would be classed as a ‘great’ weight. 

The resulting composite word may then mean something that could be an antonym of escape?

I could be talking balls but just my thoughts.
