Due to a recent change in household circumstances I'm overpaying by approx 100% this month. Octopus just used the grant to reduce my DD  by 40%  which still leaves me overpaying a bit. Does this mean the grant will go in  my credit?

Yes.  Octopus will have put your DD down by £66 or £67 but the amount credited into your account will the the 'old' amount.
