Are there any cheap solutions for stopping heat loss through glass windows?

I'm interested in a similar thing myself. Currently we have double glazing, our seals are intact but I can't imagine it's top tier for insulation, and blinds or thin curtains at the windows. What's better value for money - the window film stuff, more substantial secondary glazing, or thick curtains?

If your curtain rails are up to the task, thick curtains. You won't the crisp packet noise, and it should be cheaper than secondary glazing.A_Lert said: What's better value for money - the window film stuff, more substantial secondary glazing, or thick curtains?
Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

We have blinds on our bay window, and a set of heavy curtains that close off the bay when shut. The curtains keep the cold out, the blinds just the light. I measured the temperature difference a few years ago and it was about 7oC lower window side of the curtains. Mind you, they did cost £500 as we have a high ceiling in the living room.1
