Newbie Parking Ticket Advice Please

I've been Issued a "Parking Ticket" by Parking Eye. I am, at least, going to appeal the ticket, apparently I stayed for 14 mins over the 1.5 hours allowed in a LIDL carpark even though I was shopping in the store and have the receipt to prove it but, in one area of the advice on this webpage it says to just ignore the letter as it is only an "Invoice" and responding to it is not necessary, I am prepared to go to Court over this total injustice but my question is simple..... Do I appeal or Do I ignore....? Help please....!

I think you've been reading the wrong thing, the MSE Guide which isn't good at all.
Just appeal as registered keeper (NOT DRIVER) with a copy of the receipt, using the template appeal in the NEWBIES FAQS thread here on the forum.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You go to LIDL (the manager not a customer services operative) and ask them why they are treating genuine customers in this way and you want (would like) the PCN cancelled straight away else you and none of our friends and family will ever shop at LIDL in the future. You cannot afford to do so if every trip comes with a £100 surcharge. This is PLAN A in the NEWBIE sticky and you try this before appealing to PE.0

But just to add, it is believed Lidl's contract with PEye doesn't give them any cancellation rights. Unlike other Supermarkets whose contract does.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for your responses, I really appreciate it. Believe me Le-Kirk if the store was a local one I would but as it was a couple of hundred miles away, child off to University we were there settling them in, I would definitely be banging on a Managers door.
I will carry on with my appeal and will be writing to LIDL as well and update here, as soon as I know. Thanks again.1 -
Attaching a copy of the receipt is vital.
Is the PCN a Golden Ticket as shown in the 3rd post of the NEWBIES thread? Worth comparing.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

OK people, I have just submitted my appeal to parking eye, attaching my receipt, which clearly shows I was a customer in the store at the time of the "so called" offence. I cut and pasted the "template" which, in my humble opinion, was concise, to the point and appropriate, but I did, very carefully, add one or two small sentences, like contacting my MP as well as the Lidl complaints team. BUT the one thing I did find frustrating was that to submit the application you were FORCED to tick the box on the next page saying that you would not offer any more evidence, should "THEY" decide to take it further......Total blackmail......so, I added this to the bottom of my written section.....
"In addition, it would seem that I cannot submit this appeal, without ticking the box FORCING me to agree to your conditions, which is nothing short of blackmail and although I have ticked the box, so I can submit the appeal I DO NOT consent to those conditions and, should you decide to proceed further, I will gather and produce ANY evidence I deem fit.
Whether that is legally correct or not, I tried. Has anyone else found this, or does anyone else have any suggestions.....?
PS, Coupon - Mad.....I tried to find out what a "Golden Ticket" was but couldn't, care to enlighten me....?2 -
PS, Coupon - Mad.....I tried to find out what a "Golden Ticket" was but couldn't, care to enlighten me....?Was the Notice to Keeper (NtK) issued within 14 days of the parking event?
Does the reverse page of the NtK carry a para headed 'Protection of Freedoms Act 2012'?Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Date of occurrence:- 8th September.
Issued (Date on PCN):- 15th September
Received by post:- 22nd September
On back of PCN it does have a 'Protection of Freedoms' Section/Paragraph but doesn't have the 2012 after it.
Does that help Umkomaas......?

The NtK is PoFA-compliant; it's not a 'Golden Ticket' unfortunately. PE can hold the keeper liable. But that's not to say you roll over and pay, let's see the result of your appeal, especially as you've attached receipts for the shopping you did that day.SassySid said:Date of occurrence:- 8th September.

Thanks for confirming that Umkomaas, I really appreciate your help.
Just as an aside I did write to my MP and am awaiting his reply and I put a scathing review on TRUSTPILOT for the LIDL it happened at. As and when replies arrive, I will update.....Thanks again.0
