FIT Deemed to Export or Opt Out

An ASHP will have no effect whatsoever on your FIT readings and payments. However you will be using a lot more electricity, and when the heat pump is on and the sun is shining it will most likely consume the entire output from your solar panels. So you will use more solar electricity and export less. Therefore any case you had for wanting to switch from deemed export to metered export will be diminished. Also, in answer to your comment about cleaner energy Zeupater, we’ve actually just had an ASHP installed to replace oil and it’s working a treat! Will be interesting to see how this affects the FIT readings/payments. We’ll still be affected by the hike in electricity though. Maybe time to consider storing all that energy we produce for ourselves….but maybe that’s for another chat thread, unless anyone has any thoughts on it? We have 15 panels…Reed2
