Today I am grateful for a lovely autumnal mild day, for getting some stuff out of the house, for dc doing some hwk, for watching the antics of 3 neighbourhood cats in our back garden as they had staring matches with each other, for stuffing some bodies, for arranging a lunch date with some friends.

Couldn't find the top to my winter pyjamas last night. After rummaging through several times and getting ratty i dragged all my clothes out of the 3-drawer chest onto the bedroom floor. Now I realise I have 4 pairs of pyjamas and a nightie which is too much but they're too good to get rid of! I also had the pleasure today of folding everything back up and putting it into the drawers.
Bit the bullet and rang DS about an outstanding debt of his, mostly incurred from bank charges and overdraft fees. I started by saying I'm not going to shout and I don't want you to either, but we need to sort this out once and for all and I will help you. It wasn't a nice chat and we both felt miserable afterwards but he rang the bank and discussed what he could do to get it sorted. He's just started a new job so they need to see his first wage slip and ring again next week. At least this is some sort of progress. I dread the possibility of bailiffs appearing.
Called in at the tip charity shop today as they're selling their old/recycled c-day decorations. Got a couple of decs and a beautiful glass toadstool so I was very pleased.
In the afternoon mum and I went to a charity tea and cake fundraiser at a church about 5 miles away. What a beautiful village full of thatched stone cottages, a pretty graveyard and a clear river running through the meadow. They did a lovely presentation showing the work the charity does abroad and what it means to the recipients. We went a walk round in the sunshine and had a lovely afternoon.
Gratitudes: A lovely day at the fundraiser, plenty of people supporting it, seeing such a pretty village, having the chat with DS so we can try and sort things out, sunshine. X

I’m one of those people who get SAD in the darker months, so I’m ramping up on the seasonal cliches from this point on.Lots of things to look forward to in October for us, including Halloween and all it’s associated treats and frightening fun…Cosy throws have been dispatched to the couches, spooky stories and films have been identified (OH read the first of the spooky bedtime stories to DS tonight - Funnybones!)I’m planning to get DS to the forest a few times this month. Hoping to find some woodland wonders and teach him how to play conkers (after I’ve watched a YT video to learn it myself 🤣)There will be lots of reading, relaxing, eating warming foods like soup, broths, roasts, Yorkshire puds, banana bread, custard and crumble! Drinking warm drinks! Thinking warm and positive thoughts. Gratitudes, gratitudes, gratitudes.Grateful today for chat with the Saneberries delivery man, for PIP and being able to use some of it to pay for extra groceries for us and for the foodbank (handed in today), for playing fun word games with DS, for childhood friend’s twins being born safely, for our NHS, for OH making pizza for dinner, for my hot water bottle, for a funny series on TV, and for my comfy bed.Goodnight turtles. xNST 🐢 & MF before 40 🤸11

Well, I've had a lovely day, and reading everyone else's' posts, it is nice to see most people have enjoyed a bit of sunshine and autumnal vibes.
I am feeling very grateful today, as an impromptu gathering at our house somehow happened, and we had a living room full of blokes from our street watching the North London Derby, and a play room full of their kids playing nicely with logo. My DD had a lovely time, as did my DH and I felt very optimistic for the future. We have had a Ukrainian family staying with us for over 5 months now, and they will be leaving us very soon, so I'm also very much looking forward to settling back into our own bedroom (we gave up our ensuite so they would have a bit more privacy) and we have a bit of cash saved from extra work to decorate it. We're in a new build, so it hadn't ever been decorated; it's just white walls, but I'm going to go for a very dramatic Sea Dog (very dark blue/grey all round with a feature panelled wall.
I've had a good day in respect of my money too. It was NSD #1/16, I Tilly Tidied £9.08 off of various accounts, Paid an extra £3.72 off my Very account, got a random voucher for £4.82 from Sainsburys and I have delayed my Sainsburys shop until Tuesday following a good rummage through my fridge/freezer/cupboards. AND, the heating has stayed off!!

Outside Taking my handsome prince out for his walk at 6.30 - hope it's a little lighter in the next few mins!
Inside Need to work out why there are a ton of mini flies on my cheese plant and either treat them or ditch the plant!
Fun Erm, bit stumped on this one....suggestions are welcome!
Food/Drink Will be making my fave soup - Fennel and Leek, yum! Day 25 on AF journey. Only one food item contained sugar yesterday; a serious decrease on the day before!
Read Does an audiobook count? I'll be listening to "Solve for Happy" by Mo Gawdat whilst walking the pooch
Plan 4 Dec I just can't think about this yet...especially with the upheaval at work! My head is down and I'm focussed on stockpiling cash
Gratitudes this forum, my morning routine, my awareness
Yoga/Meditation no yoga this morning as I have a class at 9.30. "Resolve to evolve" meditation with Adriene done. It was lovely and really apt given the changes that I'm trying to implement
Spending Planning the 1st NSD of the month.
Have a great day all!

Morning everyone 😁
So, my list:
Outside - garden looked at yesterday and work plans made for today! Squash to be harvested and bed frame cover to be changed from netting to polythene so seeds can be sown.
Inside - candles prepared, the new boiler was fitted last week and finished off yesterday with the system all drained down and flushed so should have no boiler breakdowns this winter (unlike last winter!!🥶) I need to sort out my wardrobe and get rid of all the very old and worn stuff.
Fun - grandbaby was over yesterday so played trains!
Food - inventory of the freezers done last week, cupboards still a work in progress so will complete that over the next couple of days (or today if the weather isn't good enough to do lots of garden stuff!) Menu plan sorted for the week but may change depending on the garden harvest.
Read - I've got several yoga books that I want to read so will start on one of those tonight.
Plan for December - I do winter solstice and I've started to put a list together of things I want to do with my grandbaby to decorate this year. Just need to put the list together of things I may need to acquire for the deccies!
Gratitudes - grateful for the visit from my dd, getting an opportunity for grandbaby cuddles, having the boiler completed, a very clear and starry night and a comfy bed!
Spending/NSD's - first NSD yesterday- I was planning on going to the sm but decided to make a loaf instead so I could avoid it 😉

SundayThe weather forecast claims it’s going to be a dry day. The last few days the rain has been torrential. IF it does stay dry, I’ll ask OH and DS if they want to join me for a woodland walk… I think there are a few sports on TV today that they want to watch so I may be going myself. To be continued…Really looking forward to tonight! OH and I are going to see Brian Cox talking about space, galaxies, the being of humans… Mum is watching DS for us. Planning to go to a restaurant for dinner. This morning I’m going to get some house jobs done: washing on and (hopefully) hung outside to dry, vacuum and wipe surfaces upstairs, and clean the kitchen and bathroom. Going to try the old pomodoro technique - set a 20 minute timer for each task and do as much as I can in those minutes. In theory my jobs should take me no more than an hour.Grateful this morning for bright skies outside, OH and DS still sleeping giving me peace to read this thread and have my tea, and for feeling motivated to get stuff done.Have a good day turtles.x

Morning Turtles
We went to the church yesterday with our food donation and whilst we were there I got chatting to a lady who had brought a box of things that she had grown in her garden including bunches of grapes. I didn't think you could grow grapes up here so I've learned something new. The box was beautifully arranged and decorated with greenery. Very autumnal. It reminded me of when I was a child (a very long time ago!) and my Grandfather used to send my brother and I to the Harvest Festival with a big bag of vegetables which he'd grown and a bunch of flowers. I hadn't thought about that in years and it was a lovely memory.
After that we went for a walk. Not very far but I'm intending to build it up over the week and keep it going when we get home. Spent a few hours in the afternoon in the local pub chatting to the owner, staff and some of the locals. The people here are so friendly.
So the sun is shining and it's not as windy as it was yesterday. There are two wood pigeons sitting on the fence, a flock of noisy ducks have just flown overhead, butterflies are flitting about, I've got a coffee in my hand and everything is peaceful in my world.
Have a lovely day.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.11
