searching on the forum

Hi all
It's been a long time since I have been on the forum.  Have had a lot of success in the past so thank you   However new job plus the new style forum (sorry I still don't like it) has meant I have stayed away until now.
I am still having problems searching on the forum and wondered if anyone has any tips?  If I click on the search at either the top or bottom of the competition posts it says 'search competitions time' but I type in my criteria and every time it returns results from all the MSE forums.  Can anyone help please?

In addition to the info, links and shortcuts in the reference by BootsMullery above, I use the following (bookmarked on my toolbar) which searches for MD in the Competitions Forum. If you replace the MD in the quotes (leave the quotes in place) by the text you are looking for, that specific text should show up in the Search results.

Hi there, I'm new to comping and am enjoying so far (hopefully a win soon!). Does anyone recommend a way of keeping track of the competitions entered (do you use a book, spreadsheet, or just select entered on thepost?). I am clicking whether ive entered or not on each post, so is there a way to filter them? I'm trying to find the best way to keep on top of my entries as I've tried to enter some more than once, without realising I'd already entered it as sometimes comps are duplicated? Thanks in advance for your help x
