I am currently on a smart meter with e-on on the "Next Flex" tariff and thinking about changing my gas and electric to pre-payment.
What advice would you give me on switching suppliers and moving onto a pre-payment meter and what supplier should I go with?

Single rate or E7?
Most suppliers aren't accepting switches at the moment, although there is a push to change that after 1 Oct.0 -
It's a variable rate with no end dateDeleted_User said:Single rate or E7?

So you're on the capped variable rate (looks like Eastern region) - and if you move to any other supplier you would be on the capped variable rate there too.
Only Octopus and EdF have been accepting new customers, and even then only when you apply on the phone and not online.
The direct debit rates in that region from 1 Oct are:
Electricity unit price: 35.05p/kWh
Electricity standing charge: 38.94p/day
Gas unit price: 10.309p/kWh
Gas standing charge: 28.48p/day
The prepayment rates in that region from 1 Oct are:
Electricity unit price: 34.09p/kWh
Electricity standing charge: 44.02p/day
Gas unit price: 10.644p/kWh
Gas standing charge: 37.51p/day

If you are worried about 'unreasonable DD' why not move over to variable DD?
