How do we claim our energy discounts or support systems- had a text (is it a scam?)

Had a text from someone claiming to be GOVUK with a link to clink on for energy support.   Is this a scam?

    Yes, it is most likely a scam, there is no need to make a claim, I've been getting one or two of these a day...

    You don't click on anything.  The government is not texting you.

    This is a scam.

    I clicked then quickly clicked back on my phone.   Hope I didn't download a virus

    I got the same phishing text, I reported it within the Messaging app.

    You can report texts like this:

    "Forward the text message to 7726     - it's free. This will report the message to your mobile phone provider."

    Balance as at 01/09/23 = £115,000.00 Balance as at 31/12/23 = £112,000.00

    Same principle applies.  Nobody is texting you to give you money or a discount.  Do not follow any of these links.
