please point out the obvious to me because it's gone over my head

if you receive electricity and gas from edf but pay:

electricity by traditional prepayment (meter)

gas by qtrly billing

how will you receive the discount?

You will receive vouchers to use on purchasing credit to use in. your prepayment meter

As above, the rebate is made against your electricity account. Nothing to do with gas.
