CML inspection… how long till completion?

Hey all!

so our CML inspection on our new build happened on the 22nd Thursday just gone, we haven’t heard anything since.
went to house today, everything is in, flooring, bathrooms etc.

fingers crossed inspection is all ok, husband works in that line of work so can’t see why it wouldn’t of.

how long after the inspection is completion normally?

We really really need to be in by 28th October as our mortage offer ends.

thanks x

If you've already exchanged then your contract should provide the answer.

We have exchanged, however as it is a new build we only get notice on completion, it was meant to be finished in June.

we now have been told possibly end of October, but it is completely done, I can’t see why they need until the end of October.

The developer will give you 10 days notice of the completion date and it sounds as though you're just waiting for the official sign off before that happens.

Yes, "completion on notice" means you get notice of the property being signed off at the inspection, and the completion is x days later.

Didn't your solicitor explain the basics of the contract to you?

Our solicitor was about as useful as a chocolate hot water bottle, it was a miracle we exchanged to be honest 🤦‍♀️
