Ebay and returns

For once I'm on the other side of an ebay return. as a customer, I bought a heated gilet, what I received was an absolute joke of an item. it looks absolutely nothing like the pictures, it's so poorly made with loose stitches and threads everywhere, the gilet is wafer thin, there's no padding inside most of it and it's flat like a pancake, and it's not a shiny black like the pictures its a dull black cloth fabric which again is patchy. basically it looks like a reject

• received it, straight away opened a return based on the above
• seller replies, ok no problem heres our address, please return using tracked postage, send the tracking number once you have sent it, and we will refund you minus the cost of original postage. or if you like you can have 30% discount and keep the item.
• !!!!!!, I'm not paying anything for this rubbish. I actually noticed it states on the listing page "buyer pays return p&p", but decided to send them back a message that simply said "this item is Significantly Not As Described I want a returns label please"
• reply from them, "we can't send postage labels, please return the item and we will re-imburse you for the shipping"
• "not a chance, I am not sending it unless you pay me first, it'll be £3.35 RM tracked"
• "ok, send us your paypal we will pay for the shipping"
• from them again the next day "can you not just accept a discount, we will refund 50% and you keep it?"
• "Nope, this item is junk, I don't want it"
• next day got a full refund and case closed

funny how they try and make you think you have to pay to return it. the gilet was so bad,  I wonder how many of them got returned?
