Bupa - pre-existing conditions

I've got Bupa medical insurance and the ENT specialist is proposing an operation on my sinus. It's caused Bupa to intervene because I've previously had a nose operation to open up my airwaves. I haven't had the sinus operated before and this is something that's only been flagged up on a CT scan in recent weeks - months after my cover started - but will they class this as a pre-existing condition and not pay out?

If the operation on your sinus is a further attempt to cure/alleviate problems the previous nose operation to open up your airways was also intended to cure /alleviate, then it is likely to be classed as a pre-existing condition.
It could also depend on how long ago the previous operation was.0 -

On the surface, with only the high level description given, it certainly sounds a reasonable prospect the two are linked and therefore it may be considered pre-existing but as always the devil is in the detail.0
