What is the discount for paying by Direct Debit (British Gas)?

I am currently paying BG on receipt of my bill every quarter, and I pay it on the day it is due through my Chase bank account debit card and get 1% cashback - would I be better off paying by direct debit? Note - there is no cashback on direct debits. My bill is around £1500 per quarter.

There is no straightforward discount. There is just a slightly different cap and therefore slightly different unit rates and standing charge.
If you're on SVT, compare the two lines on the EdF tariff card for your region (Cash/Cheque is what you use now):
