Be warned the competitive pricing to get you to take out a policy. This time last year my monthly premium for a puppy was £31. Price then increased to £49. Just received my renewal - it’s gone up again despite no claims this year. They are now wanting £89 per month, plus the excess has also increased. Looking to move as the annual increases are ridiculous.0

I recently had a pretty awful experience with Napo that ended up being referred to the Financial Ombudsman, in short they took a single incident as a puppy to reject a £1,000 claim.
Ombudsman agreed with me that this was unfair and awarded compensation.
At the same time as them rejecting my claim they tripled the premium, which seems to be common after the initial seemingly bargain first year.0 -
First year gets a discounted price to tempt you in.
Following year is normal rate plus annual increase.
Most companies increase premiums if you make a claim , so another increase.
The few companies who do not increase premiums if you make a claim charge higher premiums. Some you win, some you lose.
Insurance companies are not an NHS for pets. They are a business which is trading to make a profit for the shareholders.0
