Had one Victorian house with a small internal porch, then a front door, and just under the doormat behind that door was a small loose floorboard. Had to pull the carpet back, locate the board, and find someone with an arm long enough to reach it. Did involve me dragging some poor random in off the street once when my ceiling collapsed!
