Can anyone advise how many years bank statements are needed when being assessed for financial help with respite or care home?

     Depends on your local authorities policy, I know someone who was asked for 7, and they may ask for more depending on what they see in the ones they to get. 
     The applicant will be asked if they have disposed of assets or money.

    As above it depends on the local authority policy, but in my experience it also depends on their competence, staff shortages etc.
    Would not surprise me if you have to chase them up about everything, even paying them !

    We were asked for 6 months worth.  And then they asked about a house sale that happened 5 years earlier.
