CA-3001 3-piece speaker system

he recently just bought a computer off my other half which came with a 3 piece speaker system which he was using before it came to mine. plugged it all in the same when i click the power button on the speakers make a slight noise so i know theres a connection.
the make and model is CA(cyber acoustics) 3001 3 piece speaker system.
the computer is recognising the sound card so i know its not the computer, im guessing its the settings or something other than that.but im having no sound come from them whatsoever.
any advice anyone would be much appreciated?
