  • I was thinking about maybe volunteering for this, you know, representing the student type people, maybe showing how students can be not quite so poor with a bit of old-style sense, but I'm not sure I really do enough 'unique' things to be particularly interesting. What do u guys think? Is it a silly idea?

I think that's agreat idea, I also would like to see thriftlady's wartime rations and the shop from home challenge, because there's lots of ideas on what to stock up on and recipes that are gluten free on there which would be really useful to a lot of people too

We were so broke when we moved in, due to discovering many thousands of pounds worth of dry rot damage, that we built our fitted kitchen ourselves, out of recycled pitch pine floorboards, and parquet blocks for the worktop. So my kitchen is very old-style, as are all my gadgets, massive slo-cooker, breadmaker etc. Let me know if they need a venue!

I also think QUEENIE would be fantastic, I associate her with being the Godmother/godfather of OS as she started alot of the original moneysaving threads which are still running today.

I think this is a great idea. Students these days need all the financila advice they can get and I am sure they would listen to someone in the same situation as themselves more than to parents or other "older and wiser" (!) folks.

Hi guys! Can I just say "go for it" to anyone thinking about perhaps doing this one.

I have had the lovely laura and her team round my house to film as a result of something I am doing on the DFW board, and they were an absolute pleasure to work with, and it wasn't intrusive at all.

Can we have a cross section of people? It would be great to have working families, one parent families as well as families fortunate enough to have a full-time stay at hoome parent represented, studenty types and pensioners, as well as people who, like me, are saving up for something big and just want to spend less on eating very well indeed:D
