Best alternative to Lidl running shoes?

My husband has been very happy with the several pairs of £15 running shoes he's had from Lidl. I've been waiting in vain for ages for them to stock them again, but it doesn't seem to be likely and the Lidl shoes are now very worn! So I was wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere to source something similar ie reasonable quality for a casual runner and as cheap as possible? TIA

They probably won't be quite as cheap, but Decathlon are superb value - you can buy online, as well as in stores, which are increasing in number. I love my local Decathlon for running and cycling gear!

I used to run in ASICS, but they were getting silly money.

Sometimes, the very cheap running shoes do not provide the support that is required to avoid injury.
Depends how serious the running is and the type of terrain.

Have a look on Vinted. Definitely worth it if you’re looking for reasonable prices. In my experience and opinion Adidas trainers are the best for running

I got problems with my right knee due to a sports injury I earned in high school, so I'm always extra careful when picking running shoes. I double check for things like the foam collar, the upper's material, how flexible the shoes are, etc. I spend most of my workdays sitting in an office, so running is the only thing that preserves my sanity So, despite my injury, I dare say I even enjoy it!

I was a die-hard Adidas fan in the past, but over the years, I've come to appreciate New Balance the most. They somehow "fit" me better, and I seldom think about my knee when I'm using them. Hence, it might be a psychological thing, but I'm voting for their V11 and V12 Foam running shoes. They also come at a fair price, though I always scan dynamic QR codes from local sports retailers to get certain percentages off.

Try an outlet centre at sale time. I got Nike Zoom Volero running shoes with lots of padding for £50. Standard price for my size is £145 - £205 !!

I am not sure whether this remains of interest to the OP but I noticed that the Middle of Lidl has trainers from today (17th August).
