Hi,
We are flying to the US and need to book parking. Flight is at 2pm - we live 2.5h away. OH wants to book a hotel the night before with parking.
Never flown from Heathrow before and have no idea what the area is like.
Can anyone recommend a hotel / car parking nearby?
Thank you

The thing with 95% of the hotels around Heathrow is that the Airport is so large - wherever you stay you have to get a bus to/from the Terminal (at a cost usually though a few have a free shuttle) so really you can pick any
What I'd suggest is looking for a deal that includes parking with the Hotel (you may drive from the hotel to the car park if the parking isn't onsite - I like Purple Parking but that's a budget option) with a company like Holiday Extras (look out for cashback deals or discounts online)
Then i'd go down the list and cross check reviews until you find the cheapest decent one
The Premier Inns are a good budget option
ibis budget London Heathrow Central is a good mid-range option

(I am so sorry I had actually forgotten about you on here! You booked me a holiday a few years back to Morocco - I'll catch you next time for a holiday booking!)1 -

Do what I've been doing for years.
Find a nice quiet residential street with nice homes that's near a tube station that has free on-street parking - Hounslow is good for this.
Drop your OH nearby but out of view with your luggage and park up.
Stroll to tube station congratulating yourself on how much money you've saved.
Reverse the process two weeks later.
I've done it dozens of times and never had a problem.
It works at Gatwick too - drop the OH at the airport and drive to any decent nearby town.
It make cost you a taxi back to the airport.
If you're nervous or own a really expensive motor use a website that offers parking on private driveways like www.justpark.com.
There are others.
On the moral side of things you have as much right to park anywhere free as anyone else.0 -
Personally i usually go up the night before and get my head down in a premier inn, usually no more than £50, then park in purple parking for the duration of our stay, if you go on their site and sign up for their newsletter they often send 20% discount codes.
you could, as another poster has suggested, park it somewhere random but im a bit funny about my car and would rather pay to avoid the hassle of parking on public roads.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0 -
I love a hotel stop the night before a flight. Takes away the hassle of an early start.
There are loads of hotels in the area which are much of a muchness if you are only going to be spending one night there and most of the time you will be asleep so no point in paying for facilities which you won't use.
My top pick would be either of the Premier Inns on Bath Road depending on which terminal you are flying from. Both have bus stops outside for easy travel to the airport
Otherwise look at https://www.holidayextras.com/ for hotel + parking deals
If booking parking separate I usually go to Purple Parking which is next door to the T2/3 Premier Inn.
