I've moved my big pot with the tomatoes into the sunshine.  I had them in a great spot but as the season is changing it gets less good sun so I'm hoping things will ripen a bit more.  I never do very well with tomatoes admittedly and always swear "never again" and then I get lured.  But I'll give these a couple more weeks and then bring them in to ripen if necessary.  I think at least this year the amount I paid for plants maybe was less what I would have paid to buy tomatoes at Lidl.  Very MSE!!!

OH - or maybe I could have some fried green tomatoes.......

Have you ever considered or tried growing from seed? Could be cheaper because surplus seeds will keep for a few years, or pick the right type & save your own seeds from your crop

I'm referring to the cheaper packs of seeds, from the likes of Lidl, or reduced in Wilko about now to 50p or so, not the £4 for a packet of six seeds type

I had good results with a sunny window sill too. Now the amount of sun is dwindling, I tried Monty Don’s tip of putting them in a dark drawer with a banana, somewhere warm. It’s worked brilliantly.
