Koh Samui + Bali

Thanks for that.
Could you recommend a decent low-key, non high-rise reasonably authentic beach resort we can get to after Sien Reap ? Don't mind overland.
I figure after the temples thing we'd like to chill.0 -
My recommendation is that after Siem Reap and the temples you go to Bali and chill there. Otherwise you are unlikely to have time for everything.Deleted_User said:Thanks for that.

I have never been to a beach in Cambodia but obviously there are beach resorts around. One nice thing is to leave Siem Reap by river boat: I took a boat to Phnom Penh but other destinations are available, some of which might have beaches.
I really enjoyed Koh Samet which is an island close to Bangkok and even closer to Pattaya. (And I understand that there is a route between Thailand and Cambodia using a border crossing near Pattaya, although I don't have any details.) Other than that, there is a lovely national park with great beaches on the Malay island of Penang, maybe half an hour from Georgetown.

I must admit that I'm not keen on the beach resorts in Cambodia. They have developed far too quickly, mainly for the benefit of the Chinese market, and are quite artificial. Thailand does beaches much better.Deleted_User said:Thanks for that.

If you are doing Ko Samui and Bali then anywhere in Cambodia would just be a disappointment.0
