BT have trapped me into my TV contract

BTTV has many options , AddOns ( like Sport ) can be simply a month notice to cease , some TV packs when out if the initial minimum term , it’s a month notice , but some ‘flexible’ TV packages seem to have a 24 month minimum..,it’s overly simplistic to say the TV and broadband should always be in sync and have the same date for the expiry of the minimum term , obviously if someone altered the TV service that could make the TV and broadband become out of sync as far as the minimum terms , you would hope they would be are told this at the time, arguing that you would keep the TV with someone else’s broadband, possibly can be done , but not with the set top box , they have an app , but then you would be paying for a full service but only getting the reduced app based version
TBH , if it isn’t a mistake and the TV minimum term doesn’t expire for a few months after broadband minimum term , it’s either pay a few months broadband at the ‘out of contract’ price , or accept the ETC and move on , or negotiate an acceptable price for broadband renewal, that shouldn’t affect the TV minimum term date, the TV can then either be removed or let move onto a 30 day notice,
If the OP really just wants to take a bundled service with someone else , then it’s probably wait ( paying more for a while ) then leave , or stump up the ETC0
