They are people trying to do their job when faced with exceptional circumstances. The bank holiday has caused significant issues for many organisations and businesses, they have had to do the best in the circumstances.

Twitter is often used for these type of announcements, phoning, emailing, mailing or texting people is far less efficient and has cost implications, if one is reliant on a particular government department it is worth keeping an eye on them on Twitter.
