Just thinking ahead, which year will we first see King Charles on a sovereign?
Additionally, I can't seem to find an answer to this on Google, but I don't believe a sovereign was struck in 1977, why was this?

Maybe the Royal Mint decided there were enough of them in the system that year and they didn't need any new ones?annabanana82 said:

There are several other years where sovereigns weren't minted, it's not just 1977 that's missing.
