You also need to check your contract with the broker. You might have to pay their commission they will lose if you don't switch.

    • This uplift is determined by Love Energy Savings. Whilst it can differ across contracts, our commission is generally just a few percent of the cost of the total energy contract and typically under 1.2 pence of the unit rate.
  • MWT, is was signed in the name of my business. While I was talking to this broker company, I couldn't believe they classed my home address as a business customer, as its never been registered as a business account previously...
I would suspect they called you to try and sell you a business contract on a business contact number, you agreed and they signed you up, they then switched over the meter to business.

I can only echo what others have already said. Find out exactly what exit fees you've agreed to before making any decisions.
Every month we get someone on the forum who's been charged thousands to cancel a business energy tariff that they agreed to without fully understanding what it means.
Business tariffs don't get any of the consumer protections that domestic tariffs do, businesses are expected to take appropriate legal advice before entering into any contract.

You will need to to talk to the broker, not just EDF, do not assume that if EDF are willing to cancel that the same will be true for the broker.
You may even find that EDF will simply refer you to the broker anyway...
... and do read the brokers contract very carefully before you do anything like cancel the EDF switch...
