  • Unlike @grumbler I found that wire wool soaked in poison and stuffed into holes and crevices worked.

I don't have a cat but feed a neighbour's when it strays into my garden. It is an excellent mouser.
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

Was it really me who said this?

Please, don't feed a neighbour's cat (unless you know the neighbour and they have given permission). You don't know if it is on a special diet.. Or if you were like my neighbour, feeding a "stray" cat, and then posting on facebook that they had found a "lost cat". No, it had just decided to curl up in his garden for a few days and quite capable of jumping over the fence at meal times. Had to say "stop feeding my cat, and she will return home".

Her courage will change the world.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

Why not a sonic repellent? Presuming they do work.
That's a big presumption!  You might as well paint your gateposts with treacle to stop the elephants roosting on them overnight!

We tried that when we had field mice in the garage (the sonic repellent, not the elephant treacle!) .  They chewed through the wire.

You should have smeared elephant treacle round it. They'd have got stuck in it before reaching the wire. :)
