What does DDR RFD, E TFR mean on Barclays statement.

Hi,

I contacted Barclays as my energy company took an amount out of my bank that wasn't agreed, this was 1 month ago. I contacted them, and they said they would reverse it, but nothing. So I contacted them again and they apologised it wasn't proccessed the first time, and I had it back in my account the next day. On my energy account online it says that payment was made and successful, however it went out my bank but came back in. I am HOPING that Barclays perhaps refunded it as a goodwill gesture due to not processing the Direct debit recall when I first asked, the transaction on my statement says DDR RFDE.ON Next E TFR. (My energy company is E On Next)

The amount was for £258, so obviously its a decent sum.

I know the correct answer is to contact my bank, but at this current time I'm behind with a few bills and I don't really want to go asking questions why the £258 was returned to my bank but my energy company are saying they got it.

Thanks!

Guess would be they have reversed the direct debit and will, if they have not already, get the money back from the energy company

    That isnt how it works.

Direct Debit refund is what it suggests.   The energy supply should update their balance and transaction history in due course and potentially start action against you for non-payment unless you are sufficiently in credit.
