E-visa for India

Does anyone know whether the on-line visa for India is available for people with a British passport?
The website of the embassy in London says that e-visas are issued by a separate website and gives the link; that link says that the UK is included and tells you how to apply and how to pay the fee; a separate pdf gives you the fees charged to nationals of different countries; and that list of countries does not include the UK! The only telephone number given is in India!
