Fraud text message/email about energy rebate
this text sends you to a very convincing website: https://energy.bill-rebate.comThat is not a gov.uk website.
I've reported to the police, please can you spread the word, I'm.worried that vulnerable people will think it's legitimate and be scamed

Thanks for the warning. It doesn't take long for the scumbags to latch on to something.Yes, they can be very convincing. There were similar around during the recent health problem offering "free" money and health pass purchases from the Government/NHS.0

My wife had a text with a link for a site myenergybillonline.com - suspect there are dozens of scam sites being set up

The site is a straight clone of the .gov.uk page. The clue, apart from the name, is that none of the links on it will work, apart from the one they want you to follow. No free lunch, and no free laptop
