Council Ticket while raising money for CHARITY!!!!

I arranged and took part in a charity golf event (Heaton Park, Manchester) (4 rounds in 1 day) to raise money for Dementia
Through JustGiving we raised ~£1.5k (this is the proof)
We had to tee off at ~4a.m. which meant it was dark when we arrived
I parked outside a bay (slightly) so received a ticket from the Council
I appealed the Council on the grounds that it is unfair and I had no way of seeing the markings/sign(s) as it was dark when I arrived
They rejected it
I can appeal to an independent adjudicator, and am considering on the grounds of:
Unfair/Unreasonable considering the circumstances
Couldn't see signs or markings on the floor
Didn't even know it was a 'managed' car park as we received keys to enter the site before it even opened
Acting in the public interest? Not sure if relevant but it sounds good lol
All I'm asking is would you bother? Or just pay the £25 before it doubles to £50 on the 19th
I don't want a lengthy back and forth, I'm just wondering if the independent adjudicators are likely to be !!!!!! like the council

Good luck! Most Council PCNs can be won on appeal.
In my view, if you start an appeal re a Local Authority ticket, you need to be prepared to take it to adjudication.
I've just got back from holiday (a day late... cancellation compo claim to follow) to find a Notice of Rejection from a London PCN appeal myself. Adjudication will be the next step - double or nothing - and yes, it is independent and fair.
But pepipoo are best placed to advise you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks mate. If you were me would you proceed with adjudication based on the above? I'm in no rush to spend hours reading e-mails and learning the ins and outs of the appeal process, I'm thinking do the above and if that fails just pay the fineCoupon-mad said:Good luck! I've never been successfully able to register with Pepipoo, I've tried a few times, the confirmation e-mail never comes through so I have multiple accounts but can't post on any of them.. I requested 6 times today and get this:
Your revalidation request was successful
A revalidation email has been sent to the registered address for that member. Please check your email within the next few minutes - including any 'junk mail' or 'spam' folders you may have.
But nothing comes through, yes I've checked the spam etc.

PePiPoo won't work with a hotmail address - no idea why, but that's the situation. Not sure whether you're using hotmail? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks mate, I'll try on my work one and see if that helps

Personally, I would just pay the £25 to make the whole thing go away and spend my time and thought on something more interesting. Is it about money for you (and how long would it take you to earn that £25?) or about justification of not being in the wrong?
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Not sure about 'a legend', just happy to help. Good luck in sorting this out - whichever way you play it.95816 said:

My appeal is also about unclear lines (and a few other things) but I have £130 riding on it, as mine is a London one. Discount gone. If you want to appeal you should always be prepared to go all the way to adjudication, IMHO.
I can see why people might just pay, but given most appeals to the Local Authority adjudicators win - and that's the only way to make a Council take it seriously - if you think you are right, why not carry on?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
