Unless your buying a new gas cooker already set for lpg, then you will have to have your existing one converted

I use LPG propane gas in our touring caravan... Even on the lowest of low settings on the smallest burner it's too fierce for some cooking.
I do love the singed hair smell I create when lighting the big burner under a frying pan - not!

Our Bosch induction hob can simmer away with a pot and close-fitting lid, on a very low number.
One frying pan (Schullte Uffer, part of a set that came free with the hob) can be a bit super-hot;  so use of different pans on one is a fairly big learning curve.

Flat smooth bottomed pans seem to work best, them with embossed 'fancy patterns' on the base are less effective at heating up (although that may also be a lack of magnetic material thickness in the base as well).

The touch-controls can be a pita though... something that you only find out once installed.  Either over-sensitive or they ignore you which can be an issue if a pan is about to boil over (though lifting pan off the ring stops it almost instantly).

We've rented several holiday homes with induction hobs and found this always to be a problem, is it any better with better brands?

You can get induction with knobs if you prefer - I didn't like the idea though as I wanted easy clean.
