I have a drone made by a company called SYMA, they have a few around the £50-60 mark, they should be sufficient for a 10 year old i would think.you will probably want to get an additional battery, as flight time is only a few mins.for example

Actually, if it's a drone that weighs under 250g you can fly it anywhere there are no restrictions, which tend to be around airports and certain other places. Parks are fair game as are most public spaces. See the section "Small drones and model aircraft: below 250g, C0 or C1 class" in the following website: https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/drone-code/where-you-can-fly. Also, watch some of the "auditing" videos on YouTube, where you will see people testing the limits of where you can fly drones, as well as take photographs and video without breaking the law.matelodave said:There aren't all that many places where you can safely operate a drone - most parks or playing fields are out and unless you've got a really big garden you'll have to find a place where it's permitted or where you aren't going to lose it.
A drone falling out of the sky onto someone or hitting something like a car could end up with a very expensive bill unless you can insure it
Quite a lot of parks and other public spaces have either bylaws or regulations imposed by the owners prohibiting model aircraft which would include "drones" even if below 25og. For example the National Trust bans all powered model aircraft on its land but does allow slope soaring gliders at some locations. So again, no drones. However, if you have ever seen the capabilities and enormous speed possible with serious radio controlled gliders you do wonder if they have fully understood the implications!
Otherwise yes, below 250 grams gets you out of the specific registration and competency requirements that apply to larger models (and drones).
Because of this there are some high quality small drones available that are just below 250 grams that are certainly not in the "toy" category or price range!1 -

It’s bound to crash. The question is whether it works afterwards, or at least can be repaired.debitcardmayhem said:

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
