Why will you be using more gas next year? This could be a major factor in deciding whether you change tariff or not. Do you currently only use gas for cooking?0

Mstty said:Tara, to add we have an outstanding question Eon Next are taking to Ofgem.
We are on the same tariff as yourself with different regional rates and standing charge but effectively it's only cost us £25 for this past 6 months out of the 2 year fix and the next 28 months will see a circa 6p saving on electricity over the EPG price freeze cap(we only have electricity)
However built into our fixes are the green levies.nif indeed the green levies have been scrapped Eon Next are checking if we are due those back from 1st October.
Just incase the figures are so close you can't decide.
I think it's 50/50 as to whether this will happen but here is the email and I would suggest you consider emailing them yourself along the same lines.
I'm interested in the answer too. How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)0 -
I have been given my new DD figure for Eon Next, which equates to a 30% rise - I was on variable rate before too. The new figure does not show the kW hour rates. Does anyone know the figure - for Eastern region?0
-
I'm also on fix with Eon next, until 2024.
27.63p per unit, but standing charge is 58.45p per day.
No exit fee.
Use is around 2750 units per year.
Account is £645 in credit. DD is currently £84 per month.
Stay on the fix?0 -

Re my future situation, the extra gas usage will literally be just be 5 min daily showers x 2 (I get those elsewhere through my job currently, which will end beginning of March 23)All you need is love (and chocolate)0 -
I’m sure someone with more brains than me will be able to work out approximately how much extra gas that will use.0

That means two 5 minute showers a day will add 1,277kWh to your annual usage.
