AA Car Insurance Renewal

Bemused by my car insurance renewal from the AA. Usually have to ring up and haggle to get the same(ish) price as last year. This year my renewal has come through as £190, it was £350 last year ! Same cover fully comp, no claims protected, legal cover. Only thing thats changed is the compulsory excesses have lowered as its a different underwriter.
Have things changed that much ? Or is me and my car being a year older made all the difference?
Still tempted to ring up and haggle

If they have changed underwriter this could be the reason whyMr_K said:Bemused by my car insurance renewal from the AA. Usually have to ring up and haggle to get the same(ish) price as last year. More likely, as already mentioned, change in insurance regulations regarding pricing of policies and possibly a recalibration of the pricing algorithms as a result.
