Spree card charity visa

Hello I’ve been signed up and happily using the charity worker spree card since spring of this year; transferring money from my bank account to the card and getting % back from each spend with qualifying partners. My last successful load of the card was 9th Sep and since then each attempt at transfer (load) has failed. I’ve contacted both the spree people and my bank. Spree say they won’t accept my card anymore as the bank have changed the way my address is formatted and they don’t take  Mastercard but it has been working for months as a Mastercard  and the bank say it’s not a problem their end they have authorised payment and haven’t changed anything recently. No one will accept responsibility and I’m stuck in the middle. It seems impossible to move forward on this as all my bank cards with the bank are Mastercard I have no option in this unless I change banks! At a time when I need as much money back as possible this seems ridiculous and must be affecting many others.

I use Spree too. They deliberately set their address verification to be super strict so if even one letter doesn’t match, they reject the card. Worse still, when they reject cards they still take the authorisation hold for at least a week rather than flat out rejecting it.

Speak to them on the phone to make sure the address they have matches that of your new card, letter for letter. Doing it online doesn’t always work because the form doesn’t store the information the way it should. 

Top up by bank transfer would be a lot easier but I don’t think it’s an option!!
