I've noticed there are some similar properties in the area that have been lingering on the market for a while. This one is bigger and the charges are lower though so who knows what it will do?

There'll be a non car driver that'll snap it up eventually I imagine.I quite agree with your decision OP. I hope that you find somewhere else very soon (and bet you'll be glad you walked away- or drove away in fact

we used to live in a neighbourhood with no off road parking, narrow roads and easy walking distance to a football ground. On game days you'd have to be desperate to move your car as it would be hours before you'd get a spot again. I even came home from a night class and there was a game on and I couldn't find a spot to park within a few blocks of ours until gone 10 pm when the sports fans started to leave.
We moved a few years back and one Saturday were horrified to realise there was a sports ground down the road - we could hear the fans cheering and looked out to see the parked cars lining the street. And then remembered that we now have ample off road parking so could come and go as we pleased. If they end up dropping the price I'll be glad that I did the right thing. If it does sell for more I'll be wishing I bought and sold it immediately to lock in my rate

That does sound like a real pain. The more you all say, the more I think I did the right thing, even though it feels so uncertain now.

I too wouldn’t buy a property without off-road parking. I’ve lived in houses with street parking before and it’s hard work. It’s amazing the amount of people who believe they have an entitlement to park outside their own house and get difficult if you dare park there instead. They always tend to be the people with multiple cars as well who have no problem parking outside someone else’s house.2
