Hi everyone....are the ofgem energy prices from October set in stone OR can energy companies charge more..
I ask because ofgem have given a unit price for gas of 10.30 pence per kw/h and a standing charge of 28.49p daily..

MY gas supplier says my unit price will be 11.025p per kw/h with a standing charge of 33.53p daily??.....somewhat baffled

The gov numbers quoted are the averages, but there are regional variations to the charges.

There are difference by region and method of payment e.g. direct debit is cheapest.
chances are it’s just that variability1 -
Looking quickly at the EDF rate table published today - your rate for gas is the same as the Yorkshire region for cash/cheque settlement.1

Which in turn means you'd save money if you are willing to move to paying via direct debit.0
