Very short term rent before sale goes through

Can anyone suggest where I could find a really short term rental while my house purchase goes through? I am currently co-habiting but have had to end my long term relationship. House is his, I have had an offer accepted on a house and approved for mortgage but we will not complete until mid december due to sellers situation. I don't think it's feasible to stay with soon to be ex partner until then because of his behaviour.
I don't live near family and don't have any friends who can accommodate me + elderly cat. I have no idea where to start though, I can put my belongings in storage but all local rentals are 12 month leases. Is Air B&B or similar an option? Have never done this before....

Try the Cinnamon Trust, they may be able to organise fostering for moggie. And look at spareroom etc for lodging on a week to week basis. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1

Air B7B would be an option of you can find one willing to accept the cat.1

Way too soon to know it will even be December, could well take longer. Hotel rooms can be depressing (I know, my niece is in one for several months) so I'd look for a serviced let or an Airbnb where you can look for more than just a bedroom.2024 wins: *must start comping again!*1

Could you rent a room? I know it's probably less than ideal but some might allow you to take your cat.
I know some rent rooms on a monthly/weekly basis near to me and depending on where you are there might be similar.1 -
Look on spareroom website.
Don't say you want it for only a few weeks.
LL may want to do checks on you.
Employer, Credit checks Criminal history ??!

I agree Airbnb, I am sure someone will agree to take your elderly cat as it is several months income. Take a scratching post and use cat nip on it so she uses it, and use a textile curtain under the cat litter tray. I rented with my cat and she didn't damage or scratch anything.

Depending on when and for hw long it may also be worth looking at holiday lets - if you are not looking at busy periods then you might find this is more reasonable. It's not uncommon to find holiday lets which allow dogs and those may well be amenable to a cat, (or some listings refer to pets although I assume they are expecting dogs not cats. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)1

Agree worth trying AirBnB - holiday season is winding down now so you may find someone willing to do a deal on the price for few months with no void periods (or having to clean between visitors!), and who's happy for you to bring the cat.1
