Interesting response from Eon Next on Green Levies
Since the new Government scheme has been launched Eon Next have been very good at timely replies by email and my numerous questions.
We are fixed at April 2021 price cap levels for two years for context and I was pleasantly surprised by the response regarding green levies today. Let's see how it pans out.

Bear in mind that E.ON Next at one point also said that they would refund anything that someone on a fix had paid extra compared to SVT in the last few months now there was a new cap.
I think the customer service people are trying to be nice and then realism takes hold in the back office.0 -
I must have missed that have you got that info to hand?
That actually is a small snippet of about 5 questions asked back to back and so far they have got it bang on for our situation and it ties up exactly with the official Government changes made today. With many of their responses predating those changes to the official info.
I am not expecting a refund but I do expect they will check with Ofgem at the appropriate time as stated given the previous good responses and follow ups that have occurred once checks were made.0 -
I don't have the direct reference - it was a post very similar to yours, where the question was asked of the live chat / twitter / email or wherever "if I've been on a fix for the last few months because the prices were due to go up, and the government puts in a new cap, will you refund me the extra I've had to pay over the SVT by fixing?", with the answer "yes" [paraphrased as I can't find the actual quotes]0

Ok I will dismiss it then without any reference due to the very comprehensive responses on the questions before this and the fact they will take this away to get an answer👍1

Have you considered that perhaps the govt. set the new level for the EPG knowing that the green levies were going & that the level was set taking that into account with that "saving" going instead as support to the energy companies? In that case there would be nothing to refund.0

This looks like a pre-April (and certainly pre-EPG) fixed tariff that isn't affected by the EPG.BUFF said:Have you considered that perhaps the govt. set the new level for the EPG knowing that the green levies were going & that the level was set taking that into account with that "saving" going instead as support to the energy companies? Yes, but quite possibly the govt. might have decided that they could not cover every situation differently & just to apply things with a broad brushstroke.
It will be interesting to see what Eon come back with.1 -
Very true - the precedent has been set that anything could be changed.0
