Should I need to sign the TR1 form?

I jointly owned a commercial property (small shop) with a friend. We just rent it out. My friend sadly passed away. I have now been asked by his wifes solicitor to sign a TR1 form to transfer his half into her name.
Why would I need to sign the TR1?
Would it not just be a case of her/her solicitor having to show the land registry the death certificate and getting his name replaced?
The deeds contain the following (not sure if this has any bearing on it)...
