PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

Hassle as often as you can bear!! We've been trying to exchange for 2 weeks and still not end in sight...waiting on our buyers solicitors so its not actually our solicitors fault...they will not chase other parties sadly.
You're best to get your estate agent to be chasing too...they should be pushing the sale forwards if they want their money...in our experience the agents are more useful at the end at putting on extra pressure. Good luck!
The more you 'hassle' your solicitor the less they spend on your case file. Send an email outlining what you want to know, where you want to be and ask for an update by a certain date. Hassling is by definition pointless. No one wants to be hassled!
When we were buying and had issues we needed to discuss with our solicitor we emailed asking to schedule a call. This meant we weren’t asking her to drop everything and pick up our file on demand, but gave us an opportunity to get an update. It also meant hat she was ready to discuss our file when we had the call.
