Ring Go app failed

Hello,
Today I used my RingGo app to pay for 1 hour parking.  All appeared to go through as usual and so off I went to my appointment.  After appointment checked to see how much time left to decide whether to add more and go shopping or not.  The session wasn't there!  I contacted RingGo on the app and they advised that my bank had declined card for no apparent reason.  This has never happened before.  The car park is busy and there are numerous parking attendants so I imagine I will get a fine.  If I was aware it had declined then I would have tried again or paid in cash.  RingGo say there is nothing they can do since cannot pay for parking retrospectively.  They can see that I arranged to park and all the details but nothing they can do about it since afterwards bank just declined.
I have contacted credit card and they declined a couple of transactions since they thought fraudulent - they weren't and cleared but not interested in helping at all.

What do I do?  Wait for the fine and then explain?  RingGO charge extra for the service of cash free parking and yet no alert to let me know it had failed.  They say they cannot help at all.

    Was this a Council car park or private?

    Sorry for delay.
    Local council car park.  Fortunately despite 2 wardens there at this large car park they missed my car and didn't give me a fine.  I rang to check local at local council and they missed me.  I offered to pay but they declined.
    I was lucky this time.
    I will no longer use app and go back to cash.
