Economy 7 vs EV tariff
I am currently on an economy 7 tariff. I asked my energy company to change it to a standard tariff when I was going to get a smart meter installed. The meter was unable to be fitted as it didn't transmit the data properly due to the area we live in. The tariff has not been changed.
I was going to contact them again about changing the tariff but I have ordered an electric car.
So my question is:
Should I stay on the economy 7 tariff to take advantage of cheaper charging rates for my car at night ot should I change to a standard tariff? I am with Shell Energy who don't currently have an EV

Depends how much you will use on the night rate compared to your overall use, and on the difference between day and night rates on your tariff.0

You need to work out how much you are going to use during the night rate compared to the day rate, but the odds are it will be advantageous to stay on E7 if the lack of a smart meter prevents you getting an EV tariff elsewhere...orangedot said:So my question is:
