I tried looking on YouGov but could not find the answer. My State Pension is due to be paid into my bank on Mondays and I wonder if it will go in as normal on the day of the Queen's Funeral, Monday 19 September 2022, which is a Public Holiday. I am asking because a bill is due to come out by Direct Debit around that day. Thanks for any information.

For the normal Bank Holidays payment of most benefits is made on the last working day prior to that holiday. Action would need to be taken to amend payment dates for next Monday, and I'm not sure if there is enough time for that to be done. There may be an announcement of some kind made later this week.

I wondered about that, thanks TELLIT01.
The sad news of the Queen's death has, understandably, caused a lot of changes and, essentially, at very short notice. I should have enough in my bank if the Direct Debit is taken out on the 19th but if my State Pension is delayed it would be manageable but not ideal.

As it’s a bank holiday would the direct debit payment not be delayed by a day?1

That would be good, thanks comeandgo. It is all, understandably happening at very short notice.0

My SP and housing benefit are both due on Monday, they are in my account now.1

Thanks very much Murphybear. I have just checked and my State Pension is in my account now.0

The official DWP announcement was that benefit payments due Monday would be paid today.
My ESA shows as incoming within my bank app the day before (even when paid early), however nothing showed yesterday and no payment yet, but it is of course very early in the day.3 -

I have contacted my Bank who say they have not received it.
So we are looking at receiving payment on Tuesday now, a day late.
Am I to assume it will be coming on the Tuesday instead?
I don't want to get into a panic. But I know bank holiday payments are made on the Friday when the holiday falls on a Monday.1 -
It's possible that your ESA payments may still be made today but by the Faster Payments system rather than BACS. Normally the FP system is used when making individual payments but I believe it can also be used for making bulk payments too.
